The purpose is putting you FIRST!
ANAHEI’M FIRST is led by residents — like you — to develop community programs that will transform the vitality and livability of each neighborhood in Anaheim.
What are the goals of ANAHEI’M FIRST?
This program is focused on resident-driven solutions that positively transform our neighborhoods — led by your neighbors in partnership with city officials, business, and community leaders. ANAHEI’M FIRST is the premier, game-changing initiative that will be implemented as part of the proposed 2030 Neighborhood Investment Program. ANAHEI’M FIRST, in partnership with the City of Anaheim, is planning to conduct a comprehensive Anaheim Community Assessment to launch this program.
Here’s an overview.
ANAHEI’M FIRST is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN #83-4394225) formed on behalf of the community and supported by the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce, Visit Anaheim, and the Anaheim Community Foundation. ANAHEI’M FIRST will be led by a dedicated group of engaged residents, Neighborhood Leadership Council, who represent the socioeconomic and cultural diversity of each council district in Anaheim. The ANAHEI’M FIRST Neighborhood Leadership Council will connect with residents in all aspects of the program, including development of significant new infrastructure, expanded police and fire services, programs to maintain a strong local economy, and continuous reinvestment to build and maintain vibrant neighborhoods citywide.
Structured to Let Residents Lead.
The ANAHEI’M FIRST Neighborhood Leadership Council will guide critical decisions as the liaison between neighborhoods, city officials, and community stakeholders. The Neighborhood Leadership Council will consist of 100 community leaders; 15 neighborhood representatives from each district, and an additional 10 members representing business, non-profit organizations, and community stakeholders.
Expectations of Neighborhood Leadership Council Members.
ANAHEI’M FIRST Neighborhood Leadership Council members are dedicated to the mission and implementation of Anaheim’s proposed 2030 Neighborhood Investment Program. The members of the Neighborhood Leadership Council will make an annual commitment to attend Quarterly Summits, participate as stakeholders in a citywide Neighborhood Revitalization Assessment, and host monthly town hall meetings with residents, city officials, and community stakeholders. Outreach to residents will be conducted in Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic and Korean.

Residents and Neighbors,
For decades, the City of Anaheim has partnered with its business community to secure billions in private investment that today has made it a world-class destination with more than 24 million visitors worldwide.
Our local economy continues to grow as a result of long-standing public-private partnerships that created the Disneyland Resort District with the opening of their largest main park expansion Star Wars: A Galaxy’s Edge this summer, Stadium District with World Champion teams Angels Baseball and Anaheim Ducks, and most recently the seventh betterment of the Anaheim Convention Center (ACC), maintaining the ACC as the largest, premier convention center on the West Coast.
And while our economy continues to thrive and tax revenue has grown exponentially to pay for expanded public safety, parks, libraries, community centers and other vital city programs; many aging neighborhoods have been waiting patiently for the greater Anaheim community to focus on their quality of life needs.
With the launch of ANAHEI’M FIRST by Anaheim Mayor Harry Sidhu at the State of the City on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, the next 10 years will bear witness to a total revitalization of every neighborhood in Anaheim with a $250 million proposed 2030 Neighborhood Investment Program.
ANAHEI’M FIRST is a partnership between the City of Anaheim, Anaheim Chamber, Visit Anaheim, and the Anaheim Community Foundation.
It will be led by the ANAHEI’M FIRST Neighborhood Leadership Council, comprised of engaged residents who are representative of the socioeconomic and cultural diversity of each councilmanic district in Anaheim.
The Neighborhood Leadership Council will engage residents in all aspects of the program, including development of significant new infrastructure, expanded police and fire resources, programs to maintain a strong local economy, and continuous reinvestment to build and maintain vibrant neighborhoods citywide.
We look forward to partnering with residents and neighborhoods citywide to ensure that all neighborhoods directly benefit now and for generations to come in the economic strength of their city.
Kindest regards,
